Antwerp is easy to reach by plane, by train, and by car.
For air travel, note that Antwerp has an airport (at Deurne) but that its international connections are very limited. There are cheap direct flights from Alicante, Barcelona, Berlin-Tegel, and Milan-Malpensa (see Jetairfly - Flights Antwerp). There is also a cheap daily connection with London Southend (see Flybe.).
But both the Brussels airport and Amsterdam-Schiphol are within easy reach.
- From the Brussels airport, a very convenient bus (which takes about 40 minutes) leaves every hour on the hour, stopping at Crowne Plaza (one of the hotels on our list) and the Central Station, and there are regular direct trains to the Antwerp Central Station
- From Amsterdam-Schiphol, regular high-speed trains (Thalys, to be reserved in advance) take you to the Antwerp Central Station in about one hour.
For train travel Antwerp is on a direct high-speed line from Amsterdam (75 minutes away) to Paris (2 hours). Brussels Midi, 40 minutes from Antwerp, is a central hub for international connections (with Eurostar trains, e.g., taking you to or from London St. Pancrass in just 2 hours).
